I use All Liquid and Snuggle Fabric Softener. Powder seems to eventually get chunky and cake in the machine. I run washer cleaner (Sodium Percarbonate) Once every 1-2 months. I isolated the aluminum spider arm on my LG and I plan to get another Frigidaire Small Door FL washer and give it another try. I will also Isolate the spider arm on that one. I isolate them by installing nylon plastic washers between the Aluminum and Stainless Steel to prevent them from attacking eachother. Although if junk builds up underneath the spider then it can rot again. Are there any detergents in free and clear that I can use that don't make residue. I can't use STPP or any detergent with phosphates in it because it will have very negative effects on and might destroy our septic system!

I used German Persil in my Maxima and it worked well. You can see if you like the Persil liquid that they sell in the American market, I just prefer powder. When they stopped selling the powder in the American Market I bought a box of German formula from Amazon. It’s not cheap though.

I've been adding STPP for more than 10 years.  Powder and liquid laundry detergent, powder Biz or oxy, occasional chlorine bleach.  Primarily powder dishwasher detergent w/phosphates and bleach, an enzyme powder on occasion.  Septic system is 17+ years (age of the house).  The servicer that does 3x/year inspections (per county requirements) has told me on several occasions that it's among the cleanest they handle.  The tech knocked on my door at a 2021 visit to specifically tell that to me.  My system is aerobic, essentially a self-contained treatment plant that "sanitizes" the effluent water with chlorine tablets and sprays it on the far back yard.  No leach field.  Perhaps other types of systems would be adversely affected.  Are you washing in cold water as a cause of your powder detergent issues?

Pretty much any detergent I've used in my FL's works, some better than others, but none have left any residue.  About the only thing I've used for the last 3 years or so is Tide pods.   I got a good deal on them and replenish when on sale.  I used one tub of Persil pods, and like them but the price was high when not on sale will get more on sale if the price is right.

My Duets have never had any spider issues, one I bought used 12 years ago and it's still going strong, no issues.  My other Duet I've had for 8 years, replaced the bearing when I got it but the bearing went bad about a year ago been lazy and have not replaced it, just use the other Duet.  I will put up with the noise if I need to use steam on some items though.
