This may sound gross:
OK, having a bowl of oatmeal in a bowl w/ a dab of egg that couldn't be scrubbed out actually loosened the egg, and avoided eating that particle from the former load...
However, I've discovered oatmeal does come out when I put a difficult to clean bowl with it on the BOTTOM rack of the dishwasher...
