What is it??

Don't know,I don't remember that lower panel,so I'm going to guess it's a Kelvinator.

Re: My Guess:

That looks like an Early to Mid {possibly Late} 1940's Frigidaire Dryer to me, with the rounded shaped Door and the Chrome with Verticle Markings on the Chrome. I forget the year of the other Guy's Model's, but at least I believe I'm in the correct era.

OK!!! Just keep us on "Pin's and Needles" don't let us know until Thursday, just be that way, see if we care...{LOL}

I wonder if it's a Westy combo ...

The fact that he shot of pic of it next to the Westy Laundromat must be some sort of hint!!!

I can't wait to see what it is!

I'd going to agree with Bob and say it's a DI-56; I do (although somewhat faintly) see the door handle, and that chrome strip sure looks familiar.

But we're all still dying to see!! One day sooner wouldn't hurt, would it? ;-)

The things you learn from this site ...

DADoES asked "Did Westinghouse make combos?"

There's at least one POD that references Westinghouse "Wash and Dry Laundromats" (or something to that effect).

When Greg was restoring the Maytag Combo he mentioned that Maytag has recalled their Combos for reasons that remain unclear. He also mentioned that Westy had also recalled their Combos. That was the first I had ever heard of a recall for either comppany. (I knew that Maytag Combos were rare, but I had no idea why.) Since Greg got lucky with the Maytag. I'm hoping that someone will get lucky with a Westy Combo.

An older widow neighbor two houses down & across the street had a westy combo. OUr neighbors who had the TOL washer like Jetcone's dryer told me it looked basically like theirs but weighed a ton when they helped move it when she moved in 1964 or 1965.

No, the DI-56 has a different metal band across the front. Because the door doesn't appear to be square, the only guess I can give is an early Philco dryer. But then I highly doubt that Jon would have a dryer shipped from Seattle...

Patiently awaiting more pics...

Well my Lavamat washer is "Matt" (male), and my Lavatherm dryer is "Therma" (female)... hehehe :-)

I ain't a single clue what the machine is... but whatever it is I **LURVE** the chrome trim!!! :-D.
