Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Ben, they are all beautifully restored, but the circuit boards will last longer if they are behind the brick wall, it also protects you from radiation:-) alr2903

Ewwwwwww!

Barf on the Hydrowave and the Oasis. I'll take a water guzzling Frigidaire over one of those so called "washing machines" any day!

There is no June Cleaver lookalike

Does that mean I shouldn't be holding my breath for Betty Drapper to come downstairs? ;-)

Last night I ran some new work shirts through the Calypso. It hasn't been used since it was at Greg's. Being that I'm cleaning out the basement right now I wanted to use it a bit before it goes to the curb. I was shocked that with Ultra Plus the rinses were nice and clear, unlike the Tide fiasco during the Vac Convention in Omaha. However it really hasn't been put through the test to see if it will actually clean anything.

You know, once the new Whirlpool TL comes out the Frigidaire may actually become history! (GASP - would he really do that?)

Ben

Nothing, really -

I think placing a beautiful Thumper in between two devices meant to enrich the pockets of repair-persons is a perfectly reasonable way to compose a picture.
After all - once the thing-y on the left has dipped the clothes in 1/2 oz. of water and pronounced them done and the thing-y on the right has suffered a catastrophic gasket failure (black ick over every piece of clothing) and/or a catastrophic wax-motor failure (the delightful scent of burning phenolic resin and non-repairable solid-state electronics, anyone?) the Thumper can take the laundry, clean it up, rinse it out thoroughly and spin it so dry it's ready for your IronRite.

The Calypso and the Maytag are saying..."We can do anything you can do, only better, and bigger"....can a Frigidaire wash 10 king size sheets in a single load?

the top loader may be fun to watch...but the other 2 can wash 4 times the amount of clothes thoroughly, in half the time it would take the Frigidaire....not to mention water, heat and energy....I like to play with the top loaders just the same as the next guy...but there are times where these versions of HE machines are better....not all HE machines are created EQUAL...

I so don't think they are beter machines than the Frigidaire and who has 10 king sheets to wash at once, a brothel?

What I see wrong with the picture is no signs of utility hookups to the machines.

It's not two washers and a dryer. That miserable thing with no window is a washer; another case of Maytag wanting to hide the action, just like in all but the bol AMP machines.

Stop or you'll go blind!

"Listen Mister, we're trying to sleep and you keep "wiggling". Now stop that and go to sleep or we'll open your lid and turn on the light! Do you understand me!"

What I see wrong with the picture is no signs of utility hoo

tom - Oh, fresh water, PVC drains, and electrical are there. I've taken from the School Of Unimatic1140 to hide your unmentionables ;-)

Dave - ooo, I like the idea of a test! I should wash a regular load of towels in both the Whirlpool and the Neptune, then rinse them in the Frigidaire to see how much 1) water extracts, 2) soap reside is left over after both HE washers are done. Of course, the test wouldn't be fair if I didn't use Tide w/ Bleach ;-)

Last night I spun out the work shirts in the Frigidaire. While it isn't fair that the Calypso spun the Delicates out at 400 RPM, it was quite shameful of how much water I heard being thrown from the solid tub!

Ben

actually,

I rather think Grandpa's gonna whoop some youngun behind! Just look at his porcelain. He's been around the block and knows how to clean.
