What is your favorite washing machine?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

My favorite I've had was a 1959 GE filter flo that once belonged to my great aunt. It had the mint green agiitator cap, copper pan and lighted dial with two cycles. Normal with 15 to 3 minute wash and 3 minute short cycle wash (in red letters).

My dream machine ia the rare 1958 Kenmore timeline.

For my favourite washing machine, that would have been:

Washers:

For the operational category: my 1960s Simpson Deluxe wringer washer

For the under repair category: my early 1950s Cygnus/Kovosmalt Perobot 331 multi-tub washer

For the nonoperational category: my Naco model 5
________

Dryers:
For the high capacity category: my vintage 1970s general electric tumble dryer

For the vintage charm/aesthetic category: my vintage 1950s Mallies/Westinghouse clothes dryer

For the delicate/non-standard category: my 1950s “Jet” vertical clothes dryer

I will try and attach photos when I wake up as it’s 224 in the morning

My favorite set would be a 1957 Charcoal Frigidaire Custom Imperial Set. Honorable mentions are really hard, because I’m torn between performance, appearance and reliability.

Would Be The Servis Supertwin !!

Childhood family Servis Supertwin Twintub washer, was used 3 times a week , 2 hrs a session, sometimes on a saturday when required for a family of 6 for 16 years, it had a yearly maintenance contract , usually just motor brushes required
but only had 2 spin motors and 1 outlet hose replaced in all that time !!

Didn't knew there were maintenance contract for domestic machines.
That's something I've always thought doing, especially with the new hype of washing with cold water, the machines gets mucky easily and goes bad early.

Servis Service !!

Hello Statomatic, Servis UK where the only independent laundry manufacturer and from day one in 1929 offered an man and a van to look after any issues with these new fangled machines in the customers home. for a few pounds a year an engineer would turn up to inspect your machine and change any parts, brushes , hoses etc so keeping it in tip top condition, if then your machine stopped working you phoned the local Servis Service dept and and engineer would come out to fix the washer in your home.

I wasnt crazy about the color at first but now its grown on me. My favorite are my 1974 HA806 and HDE806 pair in pristine original condition. I'll shed a tear when I have to start using them.
