By year or lustrum or decade.

I wish there were some sort of FAQ page here with this sort of info at least for the major brands. Little lists of TOL, MOL, etc., maybe sortable or searchable by year or brand or model. The endless model numbers are mind-numbing, and some sort of high-level guide to them would be fantastic. I have some of the manuals, and they help, but each one is limited to a single brand and just a few years. And it isn't always possible to tell high-end from otherwise.

I just mentioned Frigidaire because that't the first range I learned to cook on--a 1963 RD-20-63, if I'm not mistaken, in white. My aunt bought it new to replace the only other stove she'd ever owned, but I don't know what that one was, if she told me. She let me cook on the Frigidaire when I was a kid, something I was never allowed to do at home.

At some point, the speedheat element went out, and the timers were pretty much broken. But the otherwise excellent range was still in her house when we sold it in 2000, along with a complete set of Youngstown kitchen cabinets (including SIX lazy Susans, 3 up and 3 down)! The dishwasher and original disposal had been replaced in the 1980s, but all the rest was there.

It made me sick to leave it all, but she was 94 and didn't think she should keep on living alone, and I couldn't sell the house with a gutted kitchen.
