what would be your dream vintage dishwasher to own and use in 2023

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The best performing dishwasher I ever owned was a Maytag made non-RR, (though it appeared to have the same wash system) with a very powerful forced air dry. My current TOL Whirlpool-made Kitchen Aid washes well, but even with forced air, its drying performance is woefully inadequate.

#16 That looks great! I had to look twice. Thought it was a GE Potscrubber 2800 of the same era in white on white. I like the panel lay out better on this MT.

How about a nice 108? I like a nice high MPG city car. In the range of 65 MPG it really shows the crap vehicles we have in the U.S. I doubt there is anything here now, or ever, that would even come close.

What an interesting looking machine. Is this something like a spin tube with only a center water supply or is there water coming up from the bottom. Are there any more pictures of the interior of the machine.

It's difficult to find info about this dishwasher, when typing "Peugeot VA8" on google the result is the rare Peugeot cars with a V8 engine.

Just have some blurry pictures from a French classified site :

Thank you for what you were able to find. It almost looks like a dishwasher where the water source is in the middle like a spin tube Frigidaire or Youngstown dishwasher. So many machines out there that would be fun to play with.

Trying again, stupid site would not post, I had to reset password and do this again - but I love my GE Potscrubber 940 - when I have worked on it, I appreciate how well made it is, it is a tank. Only real design flaw was the post that held the dishwasher rinse aid post (I think) would break on this, and Repair Clinic talked me through adding a metal screw and gluing it - it has never needed this done again. I finally had the original motor replaced, now it is so very much quieter, I hadn't noticed how raspy it had become. I tried replacing the timer, RC had two model numbers listed, tech could not figure out why the unit would drain out, heating element would come on, then motor and arms would keep going - so I would open the door after the water drained out and the heating element came on, and let dishes air dry. Finally noticed RC had changed to only one model number showing for that model, so I found a NOS one off ebay, installed it, and it is now working perfectly. I also am trying to get more life out of my bottom rack, where one metal post-part is almost gone for an inch or two - I took a replacement tine-cover cap and put it over this area, then used Sugru white moldable glue, the chewing-gum type stuff, which is very high temp, and molded it around this area - has worked after the first wash, will see how long it lasts. I love the heated drying of this unit, and as I have looked hard at modern dishwashers, I hate the look of many, and when I read the reviews of so many of them mine is so much better. And I love the beige look of my dw in my narrow kitchen with dark cabinets -
