Whats Your Style?

Essentially this webisite is all about washing machines bit ive not yet noticed a thread about what we put in them!
So i ask....

What sense of style do you guys have?

I can honestly say im the most boring person when it comes to clothes, I see comfort over style any day.
I just cant stand massive logos, i find it a massive turn off. yuk.

I like the George at ASDA selection, ok some stuffs darn awful (like Chavvy Jumpers/ logo t shirts) but for jeans, and shirts and basic white tshirts they are dandy.

Im a big fan of New Look now they have brought out a mens range, and Primark, the one in Manchester is good fun.

Most days youll catch me in Jeans, Tshirt and an Acrylic Knit.
I usually stick with the blues and blacks for safety but am slowly experimenting with different colours, mainly pinks and oranges.

Unless its a really cold day and the big thick jumpers are out.
I noticed Arran jumpers are slowly becoming the fashion again! Yay! I grew up in my Nans knitted Arrans and you just cant beat one for the warmth.

Dress for comfort and ease of washing

I'm definately typically English in going for comfort first.

As you know I also hate ironing so anything that doesn't crease is a bonus. I hate logos too.

To be honest if I like it I will buy it. I have noticed Marks and Spencer coming out with better ranges. I got a good pair of jeans for a mere £9.50 and the're great. Primark is a bit hit and miss, some things are great but I have also noticed some real chav stuff. (Chav for people outside the UK means, Common, Naff)

Having said that I don't dress like a tramp but I could probably invest more than I do.

Marks & Spencer are well known for the quality of their underwear, so that's where I buy my socks and boxer shorts. They do last and wash well, and really aren't expensive for what you get. Must admit I haven't checked out the rest of their clothing properly, but everyone keeps telling me I ought to.

I don't pay much attention to whatever the current fashions are, and the recent trend for looking like a reject out of Busted or McFly (complete with the obligatory Toni & Guy hairdo) just leaves me cold. Even though it seems to be the in thing at the moment, you will never see me wearing pink, ever.

Work and home clothes are one and the same for me, as we have a fairly relaxed dress policy at the office. Normally that's blue jeans, with a polo or a short sleeved shirt, and cherry Dr Martens. No, I'm not a thug or a granny-basher, those are just the clothes I feel most comfortable in. Even in the summer - unfortunately I don't *do* shorts, as I haven't got the legs for them LOL.

Style

I never thought too much of my body so I was all about upholstering it! I love clothes. I shop thift stores and look for Cutter Buck, Polo, Pendeleton, Clairborne, Hilfiger, etc. If it in any way have a unique neck line, oddly set in sleeves, anything with a diagonal or simply something no one else has the kahunas to wear, thats me.
There I am at Christmas, with my some of my family, in Argyle, They of course are western and once again I am reminded that I must be a genetic throwback.

Hi Nick,

LOL, no bottle tops on my boots, just plenty of polish and elbow grease. Won't leave the house unless my shoes have been shined and my shirt starched and ironed! Some colleagues take the mickey because I'm so particular about these things, but then most of them don't think twice about wearing the same shirt to work all week long - yuk. Would sooner be well turned out than walk around looking as though I've been dragged through a hedge backwards.

Used to be a clothes and fashion hound....financially challenged, and also older and wiser...buy a LOT of clothes (thrill of the hunt) but have to be conservative financially....I've purchased slacks at Wal-mart, and have no problem admitting it, lol!

The big bucks go towards shoes and boots (I'm currently into Mark Nason)...

Always was a shoe freak (and apparently, it's genetic)....

ok maybe i should confess

until 2 months ago i owned 24pairs. Its now 18 pairs of shoes lol. The most expensive pair i bought were the chunky timberland deck shoes which are bob on for greasy kitchen floors when i was a chef, but i still wear them as a general pair of knockin about shoes. A slight luxury at the 110 quid price tag me thinks. For work i swear by clarks. Theyve picked up on some style lately too. But i just love my chunky brown boots with jeans.

I have absolutely no style, and I am the first to admit it. I have two kinds of clothes: Office and not-office (Since I work in a VERY casual office, even those lines get blurred), and they each have the subset of clean and not clean, I have a pair of office shoes, and a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of hiking boots, and a pair of sandals, and that's it. Everything is from either Sears, Old Navy, or a thrift store with the exception of the office shoes (Ecco), which I buy once a year at Nordstrom.

John is much more into clothing than I am, and it drives him nuts that I am so indifferent to them. But then again, I pack for trips a lot quicker, and I am happy with my little half of the closet and my one dresser.

I own one pair of jeans, about 3 pairs of khaki pants, a pair of khaki shorts and about 7 shirts, one sweater and two winter coats. Thats it. In my shoe department I have two pair of sneaks and somewhere I own a pair of black oxfords. I've absolutely zero interest in clothing anymore and when I did it wasn't much as I always loathed clothes shopping, what could be more boring. Nothing says waste of money more than spending big bucks on a shirt because it has a name attached to it. It's still made for pennies by some poor slug in Asia along with the no name stuff, never seen by the desingner.

Comfort Rules

I buy for comfort, price, and easy care.

I have my office attire, which is usually wrinkle free slacks, and polo shirts. Then I have my off time attire, which consists of jeans, t-shirts (big baggy ones), lounging pants, shorts, and sweats.

Chris is a lot more conscious of that stuff than I am, but I'm great about clothing care, so his "look good" stuff lasts a long time.

I have been

described as a "Public School Preppie."

I wear polo style shirts, khakis, lots of sweaters (jumpers to those reading this on BBC,) I have two pairs of jeans, one dark blue, and one not dark blue.

Because I know proper laundry technique, my clothes last for years.

I used to be a biiig shoe freak, but not at the moment. I have a pair of Rockport loafers which desperately need to be re-soled, and a pair of Rockport day hiking boots, which I don't wear anymore, (irrepairable sole damage,) but keep for purely sentimental reasons.

My current day hikers are by Propet, and are supremely comfortable.

However, if I could afford them, I would be like some guys I know at another board who have more than 20 pairs of boots. I am very fond of sharp-toe cowboy boots, harness boots, and engineer boots. Very.
