Well,I found my hoover 512 that I had been looking for. There was an estate sale over in Downsville, a small town over the hill from my town. My mother-in law had seen it advertised and told me about there being a hoover washer in the ad for the sale. So I didn't get too juiced up, I tried not to anyway. But off I went on Fri. am over to Downsville in the pouring rain. when I got there they had two different buildings set up with stuff for sale. I saw the brown Hoover sitting there and I couldn't believe my eyes. The price on it was 75 bucks, the condt. was fair but far from perfect, I asked the gentleman in charge if there was any room for barter and he said to make an offer. I ended up paying 35 beans for it and I was pretty happy!!! Now the story gets interesting-In the other building there was a lady I know from my town working running the sale, and she said did I see the hoover? I said yes,I just bought it. She told me she had priced it high so no one would by it before I got there. I told her thanks so much. And so another guy that was there as I was loading my machine, asked me if I wanted another one just like it but in better shape! I said I might be interested and I took his #. if anyone is interested, call me and I'll give you his number. then a third person said they had a maytag wringer machine in their basement also, a number I also got. and so I started working on the 512 last night, the spinner gasket was split and the pump needed some cleaning and lubricating. if anyone has a spin gasket please let me know. well that's enough for now. pics to follow soon. thanks Bill the drycleaner
