I hope this isn't gone and someone might be interested. I believe it's an Imperial - maybe more experienced eyes can identify? I wish I lived closer to this opportunity, as it appears to be a nice IMPERIAL Magnavox.

Hope it's around if someone is interested -

Phil

How does the seller come up with Motorola???Clearly says Magnavox on the tuner-amp and TT.He needs to have his vision checked-or did he work for Motorola?Nice MAGNAVOX Hi-Fi-too bad its not close game.

I see too many ads for Magnavox, the stereo or TV set has a giant M on it, that instantly means Magnavox to the seller. NO it is not a Magnavox. I don't think Magnavox ever used a big M, Mercury and Motorola did though. Not to mention sellers misidentifying eras and descriptions.

Magnificent Magnavox...

I have that exact tuner/preamp in mint condition, and working, sitting on a shelf in my basement. The separate amp section is to be used in my home-built bi-amp system. If anybody wants it the tuner/preamp section is yours for cost of shipping.
Need to clean house for upcoming move.

Firedome / Classiccaprice

Roger - I am interested and sent you an email (the one in your aw.org profile) - hope you got it?

Will - GOOD LUCK - I hope it's a good investigation!!!

It's in my garage... I think its a concert grand, but without taking it apart I can't be sure. Sadly though at this point in my life it isn't staying mine. I can't afford it.. Dave, Volvoguy87, is getting this one. Now if it were the Danish cabinet I would put up a harder fight!

ahwell, at least someone in this circle of friends, acquaintances and interested fans …is getting something (if it's a cg)very special.

I'm sick that I found it and couldn't do much about it, but that's the way the cookies do crumble. Nothing new in life.

Best wishes

Will - thank you for the thanks - when its appropriate, possible, etc. …some more photos of that along with identification would be sweet.

I hope I haven't lost Firedome(Roger).

Sure thing. It is indeed an Imperial. Call me hopeful! Oh well. Nice condition, though it doesn't work currently. Good bartering point! Should treat Dave (and me, at least for now ;) nicely. lol

Magnavox...

If anyone should want a Maggie (or two or three), I do have a few extras with which I wouldn't mind parting. They are more MOL models from the early 1960s. Record changers (freshly rebuilt) AM, FM, FM stereo capability (they would need the optional FM multiplexers for that), Reel-to-Reel Tape input (I use it for CD or iPod), but no horn tweeters. Great sound nevertheless, and all tube amps.

Some function, some amps need some work, likely caps etc. The sound quality is great, but I will not sell them to someone who will gut them for the amps. In the mean time, they are safe in my house in Cincinnati.

I'll get my Concert Grand one of these years...
Dave
