Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew when slow spining (e.g. below 800rpm) washers were last sold in the UK?
I know that in many places machines with slower spin speeds are more common.
Also what are your opinions on what an optimum spin speed would be, considering price, wear and tear, etc?

Thanks!

Hello Matthew

I'm going to guess this but I would say the late 90s and I think it was a Servis with a 600 spin. A few of my friends had them because they were cheap.

I think Hotpoint stopped producing the slow spin Zanussi machine in the late 70s and Bendix had a 500 spin machine up until the mid 80's. Indesit took a bit longer and finished producing their 400 spin around the late 80s.

I think the other guys on here will be able to give better dates.

All the best

Rob
