I'm sure I saw a thread here on Imperial about kitchen development/products for 'a 1975 bride'...probably got moved to an appropraite area..I just can't find it!
It was fantastic! help please!
thanks, sheerlook.

Denis look for Post# 9090 in the Super Forum.

Lately we seem to be having a rash of people posting non vintage washer, dryer or dishwasher topic posts into the Imperial forum. I don't quite understand why.

Even this thread got posted into the Imperial forum when it clearly has absolutely nothing to do with a vintage washer. I'm certainly not targeting you Denis, this has been done by quite a few members lately. I'm simply just using this thread as an example of what seems to be getting worse and causing me more work lately. I'm open to suggestions from the entire group of what we can do to rectify this situation?

I'd post what I think the cause is, but my brutal honesty would get me banned for a week or so. :)

Needless to say, how hard is it to READ the list of topics? Seriously...

Sorry for the follow-up, it just came to mind

In my opinion, anything wash-in related (not a gathering, I'm talking about a real WASH-IN with vintage machines) should be posted on the Imperial forum. No one has ever complained (to my knowledge) of any wash-in picture threads I've posted there; whether it be from Omaha, Tucson, or the two Texas wash-ins (and one mini wash-in) here.

Robert: I think the issue is that people click on the first topic in the list to create a new thread, and then the "Continue" button is right there. Maybe if you swtich the Continue at the top with the Cancel at the bottom, people would have to move down and actually look at all the options?

Cut it down to three choices:

Imperial Forum -- Topics related to Use, Purchase/Collecting, or Restoration/Repair of Clothes Washing and Drying or Dishwashing Machines manufactured in 1985 or earlier.

Deluxe Forum -- Topics related to Use, Purchase/Collecting, or Restoration/Repair of Clothes Washing and Drying or Dishwashing Machines manufactured in 1986 to today.

Super Forum -- Appliances of any year NOT related to Laundry Washing and Drying or Dishwashing, and other topics such as Laundry Additives, Music, Recipes, Rants and Raves, Traffic Congestion, Weather, Christmas Lights, Marriage Proposals, etc.

No one has ever complained (to my knowledge) of any wash-in picture threads I've posted there;

To your knowledge is right Austin, I have received complaints about those posts, not the picture posts of the actual wash-in's, but the invite posts.

So where do you guys/gals think wash-in invites and party picture posts belong and why????

Well, aren't there people who only look at the Imperial section because that's where the "old" stuff is?

I would think, that, if the poster wanted to attract those types of members, who avoid the other two sections for whatever reasons, they would want an invite or announcements to appear in Imperial, no?

Just a guess. I really don't have a clue.

Hi Robert, here's my 2 cents on the matter. GATHERING invites should belong in Super, WASH-IN (read: VINTAGE MACHINES) invites should be in Imperial or Super. I think it really should be up to the poster to decide which forum it belongs in, IMHO. I had no problem with Nate's great ad in Imperial; whoever did ought to be ashamed. It is worth noting that the invite for last year's Tucson wash-in was posted in Imperial with many great responses, none of them negative. :)

Invites go to Super.

How about making it a - what's the word I want - "cascading" or "tree" path in order to post a new thread?

Screen one after clicking on "Start a New Topic"
"Click on the topic or question to post:
Washers/Dryers/Diswashers
Other Appliances
Discussion Topic
Announcements / Alerts"

Next screen for Washers/Dryers/Dishwashers
"Click on the era of machine to discuss or question:
Classic (pre-1981)
Modern (post 1981)
Not Sure; that's why I am here"

etc, etc, etc...

I find it puzzling that anybody visiting the board wouldn't be interested in following ALL three sections. I've never skipped reading a post because it was in the "wrong" section, and only a few times have I winced in pain at something being wayyyyyy off-kilter.

To simplify the matter and eliminate the need to classify them, perhaps all INVITES and PLANNING DISCUSSION of gatherings, wash-ins, conventions, whatever, should be in Super. The thing to avoid is getting multiple threads going on any one event, makes it more difficult to follow.

PICTURES of wash-ins could be in either Imperial or Deluxe depending on the mix of machines involved.

In the end, I don't think it matters. There's no way to prevent slip-ups (or deliberate mis-postings) unless there's a full-time moderator to review posts *before* they appear.

They are related to odler stuff, but if i read the instructions as to where i am supposed to post carefully, it says something to the effect of Other Non Related Appliances, Soaps, Etc... I think they belong here because while related, they are not quite on the topic of that area..I am sure though i have posted something in the wrong place...

BTW-Robert, is there away i can change my screen name.. I find it rather dumb to put it plainly.. Couldn't be creative when i joined here... I want something like : TumbleAction321...
