Ok... I am putting this to you guys as well..I am looking to take a car trip leaving on Dec 28 and returning Jan 2nd.... Where would one go for a fun new years??? I haven't ever had a grand new years and i am itchin to this year.. Ideas? Thoughts? I will be 23 on the 26th so this too is a birthday celibration...

I am racking my brain but haven't come up with anything fun...

I taint stayin home... LoL...Two old people here..Not looking for a party, just something fun to do.....Plus i don't drink (can't handle the alcholo and don't like the taste alot)..

I am almost tempted to go camping or something...

One year i do want to go to your neck o the woods Steve and see the ball drop...Although i would want some one with me who knew street smarts so to speak....

Uh, Chad..

It's kinda late in the month to arrange something like this.

There are no local friends?

If I had the ability, I'd book a room in a really nice hotel or resort, like The Greenbrier, in White Sulfur Springs, WV, and just relax, have spa treatments, (massages, haircut, nothing foofier) eat the world class food, and just relax.

But that's just me.

Road trip it to Asheville and 'accidentally' move in to the Biltmore mansion for a few days! Walk around in one of those gilded smoking jackets and look sophisticated---they'll think you're part of the Christmas program. And take a LOT of pictures!

Hehe..

I know it's awfuly late, but i just kinda got the craw up my butt..The resort idea sounds nice, will check around..

BTW-The Biltmore house is roughly 35 min. from me, i know people who work there! If I ever get the $45 to get in I will take pics... Esp. of the vintage kitchen and such (and a few non vintage appliances, like the K/A dishwasher i saw last time i was there)

Local friends
Yeah, but two work the night shift, one has kids and the others will be partyin and probably will involve the drunken or otherwise..Plus those will be at a party that i have no desire to go to due to a certin high heeled individule named Cody being there..I don't need to see him..

I didn't say at YOUR house.... *LOL*

Watch the ball drop you say?

I don't know of any "real" New Yorker that has ever gone. (And by this I mean not a suburban transplant trying to get in some city life before settling down.)

IMHO, too cold, too crowded, too many pick-pockets and tourists. And real New Yorkers don't look up in awe and say "look how tall" *LOL*

To me I'd rather see it on the telly in front of the fireplace,er make that a hissing steam radiator as the case may be.

Ah...

Never knew that yall didn't go... Thats what i'd be afraid of, the pick pockets... Esp. not having any street smarts ( i might even forget to remove the keys from the ignition of my car)

ewww...God ideah..

I had been thinking of returning to Roanoke, but Savannah sounds good.... Haven't been there in forever

How about Walt Disney World. It is such a fun place and I understand that they really go all out for New Years Eve.

DON'T come to NYC for New Year's Eve!

I walked through Times Square tonight and it is HIDEOUS...

Not worth it. Go someplace and luxuriate!!
