Where do you find vintage TV's. Does anyone know of any good web sites for vintage televisions? I would like to add a 2 or 3 floor model TV's from the 40's or 50's to my appliance collection. I would like to have an Admiral Super Cascode, a Zenith an a GE like the one below. Thanks for your input!

I would guess estate sales. Usually in the old section of town. Some little old lady will die and all her treasures go up for sale. Yes, that's a little morbid but that's where you find the stuff. The old people used to keep and try to preserve their stuff. My grandpa had a 48 GE fridge and a 1970 SEars console stereo (with VM changer), and a probably a Hoover Connstellation with my name on it before the hurricane.

try harryposter.com or audiokarma.com

Harry restores tv's out of New Jersey he always has alot of them and he does some as color conversions (which means its a modern tv with remote but inside the vintage cabinet. Also there is a club called audiokarma for people who like vintage tv's as well as vintage audio equipment. If you put a post on there telling what your looking for maybe they can help you.

I am the moderator for one of the TV forums at Audiokarma.org (not .com actually) and can really recommend it for TV advice.
I've got that exact GE model there...found it in an antique shop for $10.00. It needed a new CRT and all new capacitors...now is working well and seems to have the best sound of any of the 50's sets.

Yes I would recommend estate sales as often times these old sets get stored away in the garage, etc. Also I have found them at antique shops. One thing to do too may be to run an ad in the paper seeking old TV's.

I can second (or third) that great group. Just for fun, I inquired about my uncle's old television set that had the ability to show slides (not kidding!). After briefly discussing it here, I asked at that site, and boom, before you know it I had my answer (a Sylvania) and a picture of exactly my uncle's set I remembered as a kid. Seemingly great people there who love the stuff.

Wow thanks for all the suggestions! I will check that site out for sure. I remember that model GE TV having great sound too, far better than most of todays sets. My Grandparents had that set when I was a child and I remember it sounding WAY better than our Motorola of the same era. Thanks again, you all are great.
