Is there a good place to buy persil on line that is a little cheaper?? I love the stuff and strech the liquid and powder as far as i can, because of the high price..One of the few soaps that doesnt make me itch (arm and hammer, purex and fresh start..But no longer can find vintage purex or any fresh start)

By the time you pay for shipping, you might find it's easier just to visit your local Miele dealer.

Oh, I Don't Know

Local upscale store here charges more, much more for Persil and other Miele products than ordering directly from Miele.

Granted Miele USA is headquarted in NJ and living in NY means shipping isn't that far, but still. Remember Miele only holds dealers to a MSRP for the Henkel products it imports, they are free to mark-up that price as they see fit.

Check out Miele USA website or call them directly for prices and shipping information, then compare to what local dealers offer.

Launderess is right...check out Miele's site and also check your local dealer for Miele vacuums. Sometimes they will sell it. There is a dealer in Salem Ma where I go that sells it for 46 bucks a box. Thats either the MegaPearls and the "heavy duty"big box detergents. One place I went to North Shore Vacuums were looking for 50 bucks a box. They also had the Miele dishwasher tabs that I love as well.
Dont bother with the Miele branded detergents for laundry. They are not the same and they are made by Kressler. My experience with them are less than satisfactory. and the Miele softener smells ok in the bottle but when its used it stinks. Makes sense eh.....

Hi JT~

Andy Weter, a club member here at AW.Org, has a Miele dealership in Springfield ,Missouri. I am certain he would be more than happy to take your order for some Persil.

You can reach him at: [email protected]

Good Luck!

I live in Springfield

Here's the scoop:

Midwest Vacuum
3043 E. Sunshine

(He's open weekdays 10:30 to 6:30 and Saturdays 9-3)

Thanks, will give him an email..

I too can get it locally, but its $75 a box.. I have a frigidaire made kenmore and persil works alot better than the other he crap

GASP! ---> *heart attack*

WHAT? $45 or even $75 for a pack of Persil? Guys I feel sorry for you over there, how do they (Henkel) dare to yank this fortune out of your pockets? I almost fell of my chair when I read this.
A small package of Megaperls is € 3.99, a regular sized one would be € 8.50 or so.

Hey, river_realtor, pick your product (they have more than 20 kinds of Persil here, even a new "cool wash 20°C" which cleans in a cold cycle just as it would be a warm wash, mind the less warm cycles of the new HE washers) and I will send you a package. (It's on the house). I have no idea about customs or shipping, though, that is on you, is that ok?

Will have to agree Persil is way over priced when one compares to what one pays in Europe. This was one of the reasons one went off the stuff after finding Whisk tablets and a few other detergents worked just as well and cost less. Indeed the only reason have Persil "Sensitive" megaperls in my stash was finding a case at too good a deal to pass up.

As for US customs and detergents, don't think it should be a problem getting through. Mark the packet as a "gift" and it shouldn't incurr duty or extra charges.

Im excited.. It will be cherished..I found a site to get some from britan (also tescos powder and fairy and surf and a few others) so this will be welcomed.. ALong with my other forigen soaps (s. africa, india, mexico, china to name a few)

There are TWO companies

that make Persil. Henckel in Germany, and Unilever(?) in the United Kingdom.

A friend sent some German Persil tablets, and I love them, but have not tried the UK Persil. I think the UK Persil is probably very good, too, but do know what you're getting.

That's just my Tuppence.

However, I DO SO LOVE the Henckel SOMAT 7 in 1 dishwasher tabs.

Story of why and how there came to be two Persil brands in Europe (Unilever (formally Lever Brothers, and Henkel) and the UK has been discussed often enough here in the group to perhaps be found in the archives still.

Depending upon which market one is looking Persil is either better or equal to, or in some cases exceeded by P&G's Ariel (Tide) in terms of performance.

Aside from the names, neither the British nor European versions share any thing in common in terms of formula.
