This is definitely not a Maytag, nor a Speed Queen/Beam.  Beam wringer washers use a trans that is almost identical to their automatics.  Pre-E Maytags had an all aluminum cast trans, while this one has a stamped steel top.

Would you believe that it is an Apex transmission?  The book that I scanned this from was printed in 1951, so I'd take a wager that the trans could be either Pre or Post War.

Pearsol?

Interesting that you have some Pearsol literature. I work for Cincinnati Appliance Parts, a division of Dayton Appliance Parts which bought out Pearsol, at least the downtown Cincinnati location where I work, in 2009. I don't know if Pearsol had any other locations or the history of the company. It's just interesting that I work in a former Pearsol store (and hate every second of it, but that's another story).
