I bought a Brand in box New Sharp twin energy Tu-5306.It is a T.O.L. model with the Supercharged brush and everything. Then last Night I was on Ebay and found a Brand New in Box Cirrus CR99 Upright Vacuum for a KILLER price and could not pass it up.That Cirrus is also the T.O.L. model and sells for about five to six hundred bucks it is the pet hair model.I have never used a Cirrus but have had a Sharp Vacuum but it was a 5111 model I think it did not have that twisted brush roll but was the quietest Vacuum I have ever used, well one of the quietest.I would have never bought that Cirrus but I could not pass up that deal,it was posted and bought within a hour.

Vacuums are like any appliance.  It's not what's best, but What's best for YOU.

If you like it, it works for your needs, and you will use it.  Then that one is the best.  On the other hand, if you hate it, and won't use it; it doesn't matter how good it is, it's not the best for you.

I am one-legged and need a Vacuum that is easy to push,I do were peg-leg when vacuuming but there is a lot of pain.I don't like the Hoover Wind tunnel self-propelled that much. The Vacuum is VERY loud although easy to push and powerful it's NO Hoover Concept when it comes to build quality and now that Dirt Devil owns them will prob get worse.I loved that Sharp Vacuum it was very quite and even though it was not self-propelled it felt like it.I tried the Eureka boss power drive and it was junk, only one wheel drives the Vacuum. The Dirt Devil has a good drive system that is electric but I can't stand bagless vacuums.I got the Cirrus cause the price well was killer.

Don't take me wrong.

I'm sorry for your lost leg. I shouldn't be so, it's said one should not feel that way but I do with due respect. I know it's not the end of the world and I see you're a brave young man. In short I want to show my sympathy and admiration for your high spirit. A big hug and my respect. Gus

My vacuum is a Kenmore canister that I'd bought at K Mart...

I wanted a canister, as I've found it relatively simple to use & don't have much carpet, except in the baby's room & the den...

I only have a couple small area rugs in my bed room & a large one in the parlor... Plus a left-over, long rectangular swatch of carpet that is just right to have in front of the stereo & along-side of the bed in the extra room...

One thing I've found is that buying something like a vacuum cleaner seems to be self-serve, as no one at Sears seemed to be helpful at recommending me anything, and along w/ buying a Kenmore at K Mart meant buying what I thought was a "lesser product", but thought it was at a good price...

You otherwise have "specialty vacuums" such as the Oreck & Simplicity, which are a bit pricey, but do admittedly do a good job...

The first vacuum cleaner that I had was a Eureka upright, that was bag-less, but unfortunately the filters were prone to clogging & needing an excessive cleaning as well as eventual replacement, so I realized that I wasn't as "ahead" there as I'd thought I'd be... Balls of dirt tended to also get trapped in certain suctioning areas, too...

It came w/ a telescoping dust mop, though, which I'd kept, but all I seemed to have gotten out of it, as it'd only done average work, and hated seeing what I'd vacuum getting caught in the intake between the hose & chamber, in a mere 3-years of ownership...

The best vacuum is

the vacuum that fits the needs of the household and the person who uses it the most. Currently, I have three uprights- a Hoover Tempo from a good friend, a Hoover Convertible (in need of a full restoration,) and an 80s Eureka. I also have a Bissell broom-vac, and two canisters--a bagged Hoover Wind Tunnel which needs a new hose, and finally, the vacuum of my dreams, a Miele Capricorn. I am seriously thinking about donating the Eureka and the Bissell to the local Habitat Re-store.
