I was trying to talk myself out of buying these really cool doors that I found at an "occasional sale" in a town 40 miles west of Minneapolis. Obviously, the obsessive, compulsive, tiki side of me won.
Fred - I went back and bought them after I dropped you off on Saturday!
Don't know if any other AW members like tiki memorabilia but these are really great. They are double doors from a local tiki restaurant - I'm thinking quite possibly the Waikiki Room at the Hotel Nicollet. Scott (55405) - do you remember this restaurant? The place opened in the early 50's and was gone by the early 70's. They are 7 feet tall and 3 feet wide (each) and weigh about 150 lbs each. These are quite old - the lock on the door was added/replaced later.
Fortunately for me, I have an understanding partner. Jason and I are going to mount them to the wall in the den. It should be pretty cool. I'll take pics when it's done.
