How do I remove the tub on a Easy Whirldry washer? It moves up and down between agitate and spin but the brass button has been ground out so I do not know how to release the tub. Need HELP

I'm in the middle of a restoration of my Whirldry. I will try to take a look at it soon for you.

The spin gear is the upper gear. If you can lock the washer into spin mode, then there should be nothing preventing you from lifting out the tub. My guess is that's just dirty or corroded.

Worst case scenario, you can access the push-button lock ring by removing the two slotted screws at the top of the agitator and prying off the agitator cap. By the way, how does the transmission sound when it's running? Let's pray it doesn't sound "dry".
