Hi, I found this machine sitting out for trash pick-up, It not in too bad of shape for its age. I have started work on it and had it agitating nicely and it spins and pumps out water after I worked on the pump. I removed the basket to reveal some rust I think it needs bearings since it is noisy when spining and the shaft is loose from the housing where the top of the basked had been. I need to know what to do to remove the tub the is a nut that is inside where I has removed the nut with the spanner wrench, do I remove it to remove the tub? also what would be the best way to treat the rust? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You. Alan Shepherd

Not really sure I totally understand the question

Alan the basket drive hub (part with the treads) you can heat it lightly with a torch and gently pound it up and off with a hammer. Then you can remove the four big screws at the bottom of the tub and slowly pull it upwards.
