Those are similar to what my grandparents had, replacements for the vintage RCA Whirlpool Imperial. Most likely the timer dials are lit from beneath by a circular lens arrangement, but rest of the panel is not.

Isnt the slender

off white panel on top of the cabinet below the console covering a florescent tube? Veg go get that for me!!!

An Imperial (Mark XII?) model would have a fluorescent backlight. This appears to be a Supreme, which would not. The panel is merely decorative.
