I'm at a friend's house and she has a Whirlpool Design2000 washter with a Super Surgilator that she says she has to take off due to it coming loose during the spin cycle and banging around the machine.

I put the Surgilator back on and ran the machine in the spin mode (with no water or clothing) and it seemed to run just fine with no slipping of the Surgilator. I have yet to test it with a load of wash.

Has anyone heard of a similar problem with this design? Also, what could I do to get it to stick in place if it *is* having some slippage problems? (I imagine that I don't want to attach it permanently because I think it's supposed to be cleaned out when lint gets stuck inside.)

Thanks,
Farmington

We had this problem with our previous washer...it was a WP super capacity 1 speed washer. By the time the agitator kept slipping off, the lint filter was not picking up any lint. So my brother wound up just screwing the agitator down.

Re: Comfused:

About these WP Design 2000 Washers and what your talking about. I'm thinking that your talking about a Lint Filter and Top/Cap that both fit on the top of the Agitator and/or inside the Agitator? Is that correct and similar to a Portable WP/Kenmore Washer, so these have the shorter Agitator Shaft on the Transmission, coming into the Wash Basket, allowing the Lint Filter/Cap to sit inside and connect to the top of the Agitator.

Peace and Good Luck with getting your Washer operating properly, Steve

Super Surgilator Agitator

Since the Super Surgilator sits on top of the permanent agitator, I've tried taking it off to wash, but it ends up having very little agitation.

My concern now is how to screw down the Super Surgilator section permanently. I noticed a bolt on the top of the permanent agitator, but I'm concerned about removing the bolt and having to remove the wash basket in order to replace it. Thoughts?
