A FOOD WARMER--HOLY COW

Marion, the dishwasher people are going to go nuts when they see this. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the top......half wood? half silver, till I looked closely at the cycle buttons. This baby is loaded. And a SUPER WASH just like the WP washing machines.

You've got a really rare gem on your hands. Gentle wash--how neat. And the front shot is very handsome, nice wide chrome head and white slender body. And FREE. Welcome to Automatic Washer.

You sure have arrived with a splash.

Congratulations on your treasure!

Your model dates from earlier than the mid 70s, I think, because it does not have the Super Scour cycle for pots & pans. I had one with the same door latch in an apartment in 1974. In 1977, I was looking at buying a WP because of the second wash arm under the top rack when KitchenAid introduced the feature so I bought the KA instead. My KA is 35 years old and still works, but I do not believe that there were more powerful dishwashers built in this country than the Whirlpools from the 70s until recently with the new xerophytic models that try to wash and rinse with droplets of water instead of gallons.

Hang on to your treasure. It is still fixable if, Heaven forbid, something needs fixing and washes and rinses better than anything you could buy new today.

Thanks ya guys .. i like it .. but i like my newer one better .. :) i had put in a add on Craigslist for a dishwahser either cheap or free well i got a response from someone tat said they had one about 9 yrs old and come get it for free.. well ya maybe 9 yrs old to her ..lol.. .. it was a 80 mile round trip i didnt look at it to close just loaded it up and headed back home and when hubby was loading it into storage he said it was a really nice one and cool .. he likes the older stuff and he is younger then me ...lol..
so today being down at storage he brought it home to check it out .. ran it through once to clean it and then went to run it again with dishes and hubby hooked up the water but didnt turn on the water . well ran through the whole thing with no water .. but it lived . the dishes were a lil to hot to handle ...lol.. but it is fine ..

Micky ya it is a food warmer and it works good ..almost to the point you cant put your hands on it .. reminds me of the plates that come out of a chinese buffet .. really hot . i wished i had the cutting board to it .. but oh well..

Thanks for all the info ya guys ...

Ah Yes...

The days of serving Hot Food on Hot Plates !!!

First of all Marion (and I love your name)  I bought my Mom a similar machine in 1970. It was a Mark IV. It had the Super Wash etc. as yours does except ours was a built in so No Food Warmer.  But the best thing about your machine is that Food Warmer Plate.  Never saw your Model but I'm not surprised.  We have on the threads in Super Forum a Tappan Range that has a Food Warmer on a Overhead Shelf.  Crazy that you my dear show up with a dishwasher with the same feature. Isn't it just facinating how the Designers came up with all the unique ideas, while today's appliances are sooooo mundane and can hardly live up to their expectations.  Our Whirlpool DW could make anything Shine like the top of the Chrysler Building.

Great Machine. Hold on to it unless anyone here would take it and preserve it.

It is a cool machine . and im really surprised that it has all these features and still working good for how old it is ... im gonna be tucking this thing away in storage for now ..
Oh and i hate my name ...lol.. always have .. :)
