Anyone know what this clip is for? I didn't have one of these on the end of my top rack on my old dishwasher.

This clip is only on the left side too, not on the right. No idea what it is for...

Thanks!
Andrew

small items like small margerine tub lids, clip them in securely. On second look, that's not what I thought it was. What does your manual say? I don't have something like that in my Kenmore elite, although I do have the other clip that's right near it.

Manual says nothing about it... and I'd think the rounded top of the middle of the rack is where you would pull it out. Kind of makes you go hmmm.

Does it roughly line up with the lid on the detergent dispenser?  If so, I think it must have the same function as a little hook-shaped piece on the top rack of my Ariston.  When the dispenser opens it keeps the lid from swinging all the way up, and the lid held down at an angle channels more water into the dispenser cup to flush out the detergent, rather than the spray just going straight up.

Neil,

I bet that's it! I'll have to check next time I have a load of dishes and open the door real slow. I bet the detergent drawer will be propped open against this. I did notice that in this dishwasher vs my old 2007 model WP, when the main wash starts and you can hear the detergent drawer open, it does not sound as loud like when it snaps against the inside of the door. I bet it catches against this little clip.

Will post back once I find out.

Thanks!
Andrew

That's probably it. The door to my dispenser on my Kenmore elite just snaps open and the little door is held open half-way throughout the cycle. When I open the door the little spring-loaded door slaps the SS interrior.
