I hadn't ever heard of one of these before and can't find anything in the archives ....does anyone by chance have any more info on these and how well they worked (and/or a part number)?
My belt drive has the old style Bakelite agitator and don't think that an agitator mounted dispenser exists....

Thanks in advance!

depending on what model machine you have there could possibly be a fabric softener dispenser that's made to fit on your agitator. Whirlpool did have some agitator mounted dispensers.

If you can post either a pic of the agitator in question, or the model number of your machine, someone here will be able to tell you if it's definitely attainable.

Good luck and I hope you find one.

I don't recall ever seeing this type of tub mounted(?) dispenser in a WP before.  Do you know what model machine this was from?   How interesting.

The only agitator-mounted dispensers I've seen are the later white "wheel" that fit over the cap but this pictured dispenser is not that.   WP did have an agitator mounted filter - scoop and sling design like Speed Queen for the straight vane agitator machines.  I have one found at Modern Parts but have never had a straight vane agitator to put it on.

Something new just about every day here...

I've seen one.  :-)

But not operating in a machine.  The cup was marked in ounces for softener dosing.  We used one at the Whirlpool dealer where I worked back in the day as a measuring cup when adjusting the fill level on ice makers.

Here is a pic of the agitator below. The machine is actually an Inglis H-570 but the equivalent US Model number is LPA-890.

I haven't heard of a fabric softener dispenser that fits this agitator but if someone knows of one that fits let me know :)

The scan of the tub mounted dispenser comes from the instruction manual of the Whirlpool LPA890.

Don't know if there's one available for that particular agitator since that is an older BD machine. I know on the later BD machines you could get them.

Hopefully someone here can give you a possible solution to what you are trying to get.

We have one of the later ones for our Belt Driven Kenmore

But have never seen one for the bakelite straight vanes. I'd bet they exist, though - why not?

As to the one you hang on the basket - seldom seen anything so complicated for daily use.

Goodness!

Be no fun for a woman with arthritis or one dealing with squirming young children and five loads of wash to do every day.
