Okay, I just this pair, un-tested, supposedly working. Can anyone tell me their ages?
Whirlpool Dryer Model LE5780XKW0 serial M21828288 1983?

Maytag Washer Model LAT9604AEE serial A0118420--1994 ?

Yes, they were cheap from CL locally

Dryer is a 1982 model year (K), manufactured 18th week of 1982 (218).

The part you reference is the temp selector.  I have a slightly newer LE5790XPW0 for parting-out but unfortunately uses a different switch, different thermostat arrangement for temp control.

The Maytag serial you cite doesn't seem to follow the correct syntax.  It should have two letters at the end.
