Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Very nice! I always thought these machines were amongst the most handsome ever made.

I think someone here knows the secret to adjusting the water inlet flume to get that lovely WP/KM fan spray just right.

Clear View

Andy in all of the videos the water looks clear and there are no suds visable. It makes me wonder what kind of laundry detergent you use.
In all of my experience with belt drives I almost never hear the transmission knock during agitation. Would you wager a guess it was because of the load we saw, the drag of a Supersurgilator or the years of use on the chassis?

I may be imposing by answering a question to Andy, and if so, please forgive me. Belt-drive transmissions seldom truly 'knock' unless they are VERY worn, but they do, especially when healthy, make a good loud clunck when first engaging agitation. This is the spring loaded agitator gear engaging the agitator shaft.

There is a 'gear fork' inside the transmission that raises and lowers the agitator gear into and out of "gear". As it wears it moves around a bit during operation and can create a rythmical tapping sound, especially when the transmission is not under heavy load. This is nothing to worry about. The snubber and snubber plate can also cause a knocking sound as the snubber plate can get loose in the plastic tub ring. This can be moderately annoying actually.

But, I didn't notice a transmission noise when I saw Andy's video this morning. I can't play it at work, but will do so again when I get home.

Interestingly, I was wonderig the same thing about Andy's detergent - they have incredible water pressure, but the water I'd bet is pretty hard.

Actually...

I'm a little tight for room so she went to a AW member who lives quite nearby in Sparks... I admit that the call probably came out of the blue for a "I know you like belt drives. How about this?" but I think it was a good kinda surprise for Dan... He may post about it later...

Was I ever surprised. I couldn't believe this was happening. It seemed like forever for Drew to get here. A belt drive WP or KM machine was on my want list. This machine is quiet and clean. I like the controls. After reading the instructions under the lid I find you can make up any cycle you would need. Today I had an early out from work. I went out to the garage and hooked up water to the machine and hung the drain out the back door. All I had in the dirty clothes was two pairs of jeans and a flannel vest. Darn!! I ran the regular cycle and all went without a hitch. Many thanks to Drew for handing this beautiful machine over to me. I will take great care of it. Dano pic of washer

This last pic is the machine spinning. Camera stopped action. It is a quiet spin. I like the swoosh swoosh from the pump after all of the water has drained out. Thanks again Andrew for thinking of me. PS JoEllen loves it too. She was out this morning checking it out again before work. Best to all. Dano Bendix 5

Nice! Nice! Nice!

What a great washer you have there!
I have always loved this agitator! I was always impressed how great the turn-over is and how it "scrubs" all the way down to the bottom!
Happy for you!
Thanks for the videos and pictures!

That is a beautiful Whirlpool washer! Love the electronic controls on ye ol belt drive! <:

Awesome, as long as a member of the club got it that will actually appreciate it, that is fine with me :). I can't believe someone would get rid of such a nice machine when all it needed was a pump.
