This could be a clever idea that may make it easier for people in a wheelchair, etc., to use the dishwasher.
Many years ago I had a customer with a Kenmore Roto rack dishwasher and it was a busy household, and those DNM built dishwashers were so miserable for reliability and I kept telling her that we shouldn’t fix it anymore as we had repaired it many times.
But she would tell me due to her very bad back condition that it made loading and unloading the top rack so much easier for her, we did continue fixing it into the mid 80s, but finally it was replaced with a whirlpool dishwasher when it was just feudal to repair a over 10-year-old DNM dishwasher any longer.
So I can appreciate even small things like this could make it much easier for many people to remain independent and use appliances in their own home.
