Hi guys joined this site a few months ago and it's great. I took delivery of a whirlpool tl not long ago and thought you might like to see some pics.

richie - at last, someone local to me. I am down the M4 in Swindon (I am not FROM Swindon I hasten to add, I am from Bristol). Nice looking machine - I have not seen this model in the UK, where did you get it and WHERE did you get that TIDE!!!!!! How does the machine perform?

Hi hoovermatic, were practically neighbours. I went to the uk wp site and then did a google search with the modle no and odered it from there. the tide I bought off ebay US, shan't rush out and do it again, doesn't seem to clean as well as persil bio or non bio. The washer is great washes really well and quick about 25 mins inc filling time. I own a small cleaning business and have to wash alot of office tea towels cleaning clothes dusters etc and it seems to wash as well as mo old zanussi jestsystem xc6

thanks, I adore it and it does a really good job. I've connected it to the hot and cold and inserted a standard grey drain pipe into the short slightly bigger black pipe on the washer and then connected the grey pipe under the sink as normal, and I've had no probs with the volume of water even if the washer and dishwaher happen to drain at the same time

I never thought I'd get one in the kitchen, but I placed it side on to where the old washer sat under the counter top

Ah wow! Not seen actual pictures of the new Whirlpool toploaders available here in the UK yet, but I have my eye on them as I am very keen to try one out especially now when they're still available. I see you're also a fellow Persil fan.

Anyway a few questions... How long does it take to fill for a hot wash? And also is there any more wear on clothes than on a standard frontloader? I've read all sorts of stories on the internet about Whirlpool DD's shredding laundry but I'm doubting as to whether that is true or not. I do love these washers; ever so tempted to buy one for myself!

What dryer companion do you have?

Jon

This is a nice washer. They don't make the flat buttons here in the USA any longer. I do like that better than the knobs. In my openion Whirlpool is about the only decent TL made here in the USA at this time.
Best Of Luck

it takes about 4 mins to fill on the hot wash when set to lrg load, about 2 mins if on warm, haven't used cold yet. I haven't seen any increase wear on clothes as of yet but will keep and eye on things and report back. I use persil powders and get great results, thought I might have to use liquid for darks but even with a full load haven't found any traces of powder. I've found the soak cycle great for the office's towels etc. even letting them soak it's still quicker than the old zanussi.

Do you mind if I ask . . .

How much did you pay for that bottle of Tide with shipping?

Very nice machine. How much Persil do you use for a load, and what is your regimen for washing whites in that machine? How long do you let them soak? Do you change the water between the soak and the wash? Do you believe that the TL cleans your whites as well as a traditional FL?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm very curious.

Bryan
