Whirlpool washer in SunnyYellow

Picked up this washer this weekend just could NOT resist it came from an estate sale when I Saw it it looked like Harvestgold but i really think it is sunny yellow, anybody have any thoughts It is a model LWA6400L3

I thought the back panel lite up as it has a plastic lens but i think it`s just a filler panel

Wow John, NICE! Looks to be VERY clean!

You should try removing the screws for the control panel and looking inside to see if there IS a light... maybe you just need a bulb?
(wishful thinking - fingers crossed!)

Awesome Machine!!!

I love it!!! My mother's best friend/my second mom had the exact machine only with the addition of a sudsaver. I would love to have that machine...I hope you get many years of happiness out of that machine!!!

Wow nice washer

We had the same model like that in the 1970`s with same conmtrols,but in white. Have many memories of helping with wash & doing my own cloths. plus helping father do repairs on belt,pump and the wiggle solinoids.

Picked this up last week

Thought the same about the light.
Although there was no light in back of that plastic panel, Toggles added one.
Funny that the light comes on only when the timer is energized.

This particular machine has a problem with its spin speed, although it washes perfectly.

Our first Whirlpool had that type of lint filter, but I don't think it had bleach dispenser. It had push buttons for water temperature control, no suds return. It did have a fabric softener dispenser on the agitator, which I think we bought later.

Washer color

The letter L in the end of the module # stands for lemon it was an unshaded version of harvestgold it was used on promontable modules and portables its not the same pretty yellow that was used in the early 60s. The W in the module means its 1971

Beautiful washer. I once saw a Coppertone model of a washer containing all of these features, but it was a slightly older model IIRC.

This washer is at earliest a 1971 model, as that was the first year of the pushbutton lid switch shown in Pic # 5.

These lint filters are the best catchers IMHO. I always loved that you could pull it out during the wash and see the water flow past.
