Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Mark, yes the base plates we have of course have the center post. I wouldn’t bother saving one with the bad center Post.

I’ve never tried to replace the complete center post in one parts have always been so readily available that there is no point in trying to do that in my world. I have more than I could ever use for Belt Drive whirlpool washers.

I would probably charge about $125 for a good used one in good condition if someone picks it up from us.

Baseplate/ Centerpost

Hi John,
Making the centerpost part itself seems the easy part of getting the machine running again. I do see a fairly entailed procedure though to install a new centerpost into this baseplate correctly. My thought is, where you are in MD is about 7 hours from my home base in NH. I would gladly take the drive to purchase and pick up one of your baseplates. If this sounds OK with you, I'll see what works with my schedule and check back with you for what works. Would you happen to have any lower baskets for this machine? The one I have does have areas where the seal sits that the centerpost passes thru that are a little rough.
