Whirlpool washer problem

I am trying to fix a relatively newer model whirlpool washer. The machine wouldnt spin or agitate so i replaced the transmission. Now it will spin for a few minutes and just slow down to a stop. Could it be a clutch problem? I understand that some of these have an electromechanical clutch.

Did you check the motor coupling? It is the "weak" link in the direct drive system. It is a 3 prong coupling with a rubber isolater. One half attaches to the tranny side of the motor, and the other identical side attaches to the input shaft of the tranny. The rubber isolation mount goes between the 2 before you remount the motor onto the tranny plate. When it doesn't agitate or spin, but the motor runs, this is usually the problem. Also the pins may not be broken off, but the center hole may be rounded out and not turning the input shaft of the tranny. Hope this helps!

Coldspot, what pins are you talking about? The shipping pins? I know about the coupling thing. It is perfect. I can't figure this one out for anything. I keep suspecting it to be the clutch. I have put this machine on the backburner for now until I have a brainstorm on it. So many more projects to work on here for now.
