I am new here. I bought the above washer in May 2023, and it ceased working in early April 2025. I paid a repairman to come twice, and he did not fix it. I did research and found this site - a wealth of information about this machine. I wanted to post how I got it resolved at no charge and let people know. I spoke to Lowe's where I bought it. They would do nothing. I did CHAT on Whirlpool and they said a repair person would come and fix the pump problem, but all the other issues, I would be billed for. The other issues being quite a list: could not complete a cycle, door would not lock, running just rinse and spin left the clothes dripping, the lights to show where in the cycle the machine was did not work. Also, we had to unplug it because the pump would come on at all hours. Sound like yours? I said thanks, but I will go up the food chain at Whirlpool. I went to the corporate site, hoping to find a company official in charge of consumer affairs. Nope. So I wrote a letter to the CEO, Mr Marc Bitzer. A long letter explaining the situation and including documentation about my washer. Maybe a week later I got a call from the Whirlpool Executive Office. A very nice woman said they would send out a factory trained repairperson to fix all that was wrong at no charge. The person came, and within minutes - you guessed it - bad control panel. And I said - it's out of stock. He says yes, it is back ordered. After he left I called my contact at the Executive Office and told her that, and she said, you will get it. Yes, I did, about 7 days later. This morning the same repair person came back and fixed the machine. Who knows how long it will last? But for the moment, it is working. And I know who to contact if it fails again. I feel that Whirlpool should have recalled this model and replaced the control panel on them all. They wait for someone like me to complain to the CEO before they will do anything. If you have this machine, get on them. They know it is a control panel problem.
