whirlpool wringer washer history question

Hello all, I have looked and cannot find a timeline on whirlpool wringer washers. as everyone knows,I am looking for a surgomatic washer. I already have a nice 64 visimatic by kenmore in pink of course. I know that the whirlpool wringer machines were the same as kenmore but with a little different look. does anyone have any info on the progression of the whirlpool wringer washers that they could share? thanks Bill the drycleaner

not much of a difference for the most part.....most likely both built by FSP....

but as usual, Kenmore always had a bit of a step up in features and options...about the only thing Kenmore offered extra was the lint filter, and some fancy styling...

the only thing that made them different was the RotoSwirl for the Kenmore and Whirlpool had a Surgilator…

I do know in 58

The Lady Kenmore wringer was 2 speed, had a recirculating lint filter, a Roto Swirl agitator and a Spray rinse wringer!!!The wringer had a nozzle that hooked to a hose and sprayed the clothes as they went thru the wringer!!!

I would imagine that the early WP wringers were listed as manufactured by the 1900 Corporation as even the first WP automatics were labeled that way.

The Whirlpool washer had a lint filter too if you got the fancy model.

Are you talking about the agitator mounted filter that WP sold as an after-market accessory to give lint filtering to older machines or the recirculating filter like Kenmore wringer washers also had? I found an ad for the agitator-mounted filter in a late 50s trade magazine and showed it to John. He spotted a couple at Modern Parts, maybe, and bought one for each of us. I remember the clear tube with the brass faucet on the end that rose about 2 or 3 feet above the machine. Sears used it to attract people to the wringer machines and water ran through a clear plastic pipe. I was not allowed to get too close to that. I was young and the only Sears store that we went to was the big one downtown and we went there very infrequently. It probably used the drain hose port on the pump much like the lint filter that was mounted in the tub did.

I was thinking about the same kind that the Lady Kenmore wringer had.
