These machine have appeared to have changed very little from the Phillips days. I assume that Crosslee founded in 1996 did a management buyout of PHillips Dryer Factory on Halifax and continued making them ever since. They appear okay but I think their front doors are of a nasty cheap plastic design. Many Biritsh Tumble Dryers I think are made of Nsty and cheap design and not made to last long. I think White Knight should changed their front doors

actually the desige of the workings is exactly the same as the philips dryer the control panal design is just modonised thats all. the doors are actually fairly strong too.

I used to look after a woman who had the white knight full size condenser dryer and it was awful......took an age to dry anything and was very noisy.

Sorry they were I beleive from 1986. WE just bought a Zanussi Dryer as the White doors are the worst I have seen on the shop Floor. Just so cheap. It near broke whilst I was opening a door on a display model. Awful

I think the trouble with White Knight condenser dryers is that they have just basically stuck a condenser unit in their vented dryer design, rather than designing it from scratch.  Unfortunate really as their vented dryers are a nice, simple machine for the money at just over a £100 - at least when I last checked lol.

Hi Jon
Having just sold on my 8 month old white knight condensor dryer I totally agree with you over the design of them. I got one cos most people I know have not had a problem with the dryer but the condensor model is awful. Clothes used to get super hot and the windows would still end up with condensation on them as the condensor unit was too small to cope with a 6-7 kg load. I had the engineer out a few times and he was saying it was because my machine didnt have a good enough spin speed and I took him into the kitchen and pointed to what I had at the time which was an AEG 1600 spin and he just said "oh".

Its thankfully been sold on now and I have gone back to a vented dryer which is a lot quicker and thankfully a lot less noisier.

And I personally found the door a little bit flimsy but it never broke it just went a little out of shape with the heat from the machine

White Knight Door

Interesting the new Zanussi Machine so far is fast and and appears very good. I have heard the White Knight vented dryers appear okay, But it is by time they moved on from the Old Phillips Design and change their front doors. I would prefer if they are like more the Indesit/Hotpoint door construction, but not the rest as they appear a bad internal design. I am glad we have gone back to Zanussi, Indesit I will use for Large Dishwashers only and perhaps some of their washers but not much else. Zanussi appears to have kept the qulaity up. The trouble is many brand names are now owened by big groups, too much badge engeering these going on these day.
