Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

you're right...It's all good!

It's hard to nail down a favorite, because like Gansky said, they are all unique in different ways.

There are many machines I enjoy, like front-loading Westy slant fronts, and Bendix machines. Fridgaire control towers are also definitely cool too, along with the entire GM-Fridigaire line with the unique agitator that moves up & down versus back & forth. GE filter-flo's are neat in their mechanical design, and their animation. I'm right partial to them too because my mom has always had them. Center-dial Maytags are about as umbiquous as a Briggs & Stratton lawnmowers, and are an icon of American life. Cannot forget speed-queens too. There's also time-lines, Philcos, and a wide variety of attractive Whirpools and kenmores too. You also can't forget many of the machines from the brands we've lost over the years too, like Blackstone, and ABC -o- matic.

You can't forget dryers too! Many of which have featured the same neat engineering advances as the washers have had too!

Best Washer in Collection

I think whomever has the Maytag 900 pushbutton washer has the full monty, hands down, incredible machine of all time, but that's just me and Granny Clampett. I am not big on washing machines posing as sinks, and diswashers being part time washing machines and dryers being room heaters, and washers being half assed part time dryers. But that's just me.

Panthera, I got that pic from the museum section of this site. That machine is not mine but here is the interior shot. Maybe some day I will be lucky enough to find one of those!

thanks!

That is great. I wonder if the drain was gravity or via pump. If pump, that would have made this a truly flexible piece of equipment. You could have put it literally anywhere. When I see stuff like this I wonder just how much creativity we have lost through the years...Today, if you want a clever solution you just about have to buy Chinese. Even here in Europe things are pretty much plain vanilla or, better, null-acht-fünfzehn. Wonder if any of these are still around? GE still understood quality in those days.
