Help Support :

I am SO Jealious. You Have such a Killer collection the Neptune looks just like my Aunts but the way her's was mounted I never saw That but the insides are it.I have 3 WasteKings a SS5000 Which is one of my Favs Cast ring center ripper and undercutters.I have a 1980 WasteKing 1001 with Fixed hammers and I have one of the Newer highspeed ones which I am taking apart as a Project of mine.I have a Viking the Older ones before they went to Ise.Its a Great Machine Hobart designed of course.I have a HIGH Speed G.e. 3/4/ Hp its Fast but kinda loud with that universal motor.I snagged a Ise classic but it was Broke and I have the New Ise Excel and the Nationaline on its way.I dont have Nothing compared to your collection but I am always looking. They Dont make them like they Used to thats For sure I am hoping that sence Ise has changed maybe it will force Wasteking to design a New one.I have already noticed they have released a 1,1/4 H.p for the Home but thats about it.I have so many Parts from my crazy hobbies I am going to make my own and use that New Monster Motor for a Base. You wouldnt happen to have in Pics of a Maytag would ya the good ones.Which one is your Favorite out of all of them.

favorite of all

Waste King, vintage of course. Alas too tall to fit my current sink, so I have a Viking.

Damn your Lucky..I don't know why I can't find thoese anywhere I see Kitchenaids on Ebay the older ones I have bought a Few but for some Reason thoese Fc11 Models elude me.My best friend Mom had one and I remember hers How quite it was compared to the ones Now days. Then in 1987 My Parents drug me to the Maytag place and I saw one took apart and the impellers where like on bearings and had some soft bump stop in the center the grind ring was VERY sharp.I begged for them to get one then but NOPE.They where getting a Belt-drive Jetclean dishwasher.I saw that One on Ebay and had it till the Last Min then a Diver came and got it.I swear next time on Ebay I will put a bid so high on it in the last 5 Min they wont have enough time to go get a loan before its done. That happened 3 years ago and thats the only one I have Ever seen sence then. The Viking has Cast everything on it even the one made buy Ise.I have both of them one of the older Cast-Iron ones and one of the Newer Made by Ise now. There is some slight differnces in them but at least they kept the same cast grind system.I just have the Older HEAVY one now sold the other Ise made one.The Old Vikings or K.a. are bulit like a Tank grinds great has a little trouble with steak bones. They tend to Bounce around when they get smaller turn into balls and it has trouble getting a grip on it.The Machine should have been disigned with more Pronouced Primary Breaker Bars and the grind rind needs to be about 1/4 in taller. My Old WasteKing SS5000 and the Vikings/K.a. are my Fav I own till I come sneak up your attic and get that other Maytag;)...LOL

I have an ISE made Viking 3/4 hp

my daily driver... its ok but not as good as an older Waste King with the cast ring.
My Viking is mounted with the Waste King/Whirlaway three bolt/clamp mount. I hate the ISE corrugated splash guard, so I swapped it out for this. The WK guard is better, and its a little quieter than with the ISE mount

Now that's a homemaker ready to clean!

Greg, you should have seen what that looked like BEFORE Michael cleaned it out!

I've had the Elkay for a while, maybe since last winter. Like all the vintage disposals I have, it came from Ebay, purchased years ago and never installed. I'm sometimes curious to know if it would be any good, but would hate to ruin it by installing it. There is not much stainless steel in it!

Jeff why are ya Limited on which disposer you can install?I know you have a HUGE collection of disposers but you have said you can't fit them in there.Oh the Elkay's well My aunts didnt grind to well at all but she wouldnt put anything much at all down it cause she was worried about her septic Tank.I do remember that when I would sneak and play with it that it was not fast and Kinda loud.I didnt get a chance to really test it though.I am HARD on disposers Steak bones,Pork Bones,Cobs,Paper,Etc.. I am thinking about finding me a commerical disposer I like that small Frame one from Fabright(American delphi) but I am sure it would cost a TON.

I am limited because...

of where the drain pipe comes out of the wall. Its too high, and I shudder to think of what it would cost to lower a lousy pipe a few inches. As it is, I can have any model which has a 6 inch rough in, such as ISE. I've also had a Whirlaway PRO in for a while, and a small Waste King SS3300(now installed in my BF's kitchen).
I could install my Waste King SS5000, but because of the depth of my sink, and the height of my drain pipe the WK would have water standing in it and that would not be good!

Yea DONT let No water stand in it.When I was living with my X we had a old house and there was a High speed G.e. in it and water always stood in it cause the drain was so screwed up.I was suprized it lasted as long as it did cause it was a 1980 1/2 H.p. model and work fine till one day it froze up.He cant even change a light bulb so it was up to me to fix it.I Put a Wasteking in and it lasted for a Month then it was Gone cause of the water. Finally I rigged up a Sealed Tub with a sump-pump in it and that did the trick.Once it filled up about half way it would turn on and empty out.Oh D.h.l. Just Dropped off that Disposer it does not work at all its Locked up like a Drum and Wont move at all..The insides looks like yours but yours is better this one has the cheap Hammers they look like the Ise Badger type not cast.It Probally needs some Lube in it but I dont want to break it and not be able to get my $$$ back.Sorry for so many ??? Jeff but my Boyfriend works for L'Oréal and he is always in Paris,London, and Hongkong. He indulges me on my hobbies I think he feels sorry for me cause I lost my leg above knee, he told me he would Pick me up a Maximatic from U.k. but there 50 H.z. at 220 that wouldnt work here would it.Thanks Wes.

My Maytag from appx 1990 is still going strong. I saw the exact same disposal at "Urban Ore," a salvage yard in Berkeley about a year ago. I should have grabbed it, as I'm sure it worked fine and was simply a victim of a kitchen remodel. The Maytag was the best deal on all the appliances I bought when I remodeled my kitchen. It was in the box, probably returned by a contractor, at the appliance dealer where I bought my marked-down KA dishwasher. The disposal cost me only $29. I'll be keeping an eye out for salvaged Maytag and JennAir disposals as I don't think I'll want anything else in the event I ever need to replace the one I have.

The Maytag replaced an old ISE (I think) "Badger" model that I had no intention of keeping. It looked very similar to the Bus Boy models pictured above.

I have a disk

from an original Maytag disposer, bought it as a spare part from ebay. Its a heavi thing thats for sure!
