Older GE Monogram DW

These were made by Regency in Australia, If you get it for free you might have fun with it, but I sure would not go to the trouble of installing it.

They were a PITA to work on, they usually leaked or flooded right before we pulled them out and put them in the recycling pile.

I am sure that GE would like to forget that they ever sold them, LOL.

I hadn't realized that the regency "Vulcan dishlex in non luxury guise" lasted that long.

If it is a Regency VSA based machine I thought they'd stopped being manufactured when the original wash system was replaced in the mid 90s.

That doesn't even look like an Aussie machine that I've ever seen before.

I know the Regency machines were sold in the US but the ones I've seen were always identical to what we had here.

If regency are still selling them in the US they're not mad in Australia and I assume are just rebadged out of Asia.

Here is the original Regency machine from the 1980s or 1990s. The image was originally posted by Peteski50.

The Dishlex machines from the 1980s and 1990s (particularly the former) had a very good reputation for reliability here in Australia. I doubt that any export model would be different.

Some friends of ours had a machine from the late 70's that ran right up to 2010. It was their Daily Driver in that house for well over two decades. I believe a Bosch replaced it - and they haven't been impressed with cycle lengths or 21st Century build quality at all.

At this time, Dishlex was owned by the Vulcan company - today owned by Rheem, at the time a manufacturer of Water Heaters and possibly other products too.

Today, Dishlex is part of the Electrolux group. We had one for a couple of years before moving and had no issues, really. The machine, a DX302, was part of a series known to have bad soldering. Ours, bought in late 2007 was apparently one of the last made here in Australia before production in China started, so that might have something to do with it.

As I see it, the Dishlex machines have a similar looking wash system to the Bosch machine I used in Norway, which was similar to the Hotpoint machines from the similar timeframe from the UK. Perhaps there was some badge-engineering? I dunno. Fact is they are all very good machines, and very solid.

A recent YouTube video I watched from an Australian poster indicated that you can still get the membrane touch panels for the old Dishlex digitally-controlled machines. Guess it says a lot compared to other manufacturers today!

Some Dishlex Ads from back in the day are linked, and the images are of the Bosch S620 machine I got to use in Norway.

I have this dishwasher and posted back in the spring about it leaking. I can tell you that it washes and drys excellent! It's not super quiet, but you can put in really dirty dishes and they always come out spotless. Make sure and clean the filters and check the wash arms for debris. My dishwasher leaks from the left corner, but only if I select a heated wash cycle...otherwise, it doesn't leak a drop.

I would take it for sure!
