Who makes this Washer...

There is only one Pic of it and I cant tell the brand of it...It is free so I am thinking of picking it up..

My 1982 Whirlpool is ripping my clothes to shreds bad....Delicate wash does not last long enough and 5 mins on normal wash

rips the buttons out and everything else also..

 It kinda reminds me of a R.CA. my eyes are dilated from the eye doctor today so my vision is screwed.

I can't see anything right now and the pic is lousy..

So it would be worse at shredding my clothes than the belt drive Whirlpool I have now?

I had a D/D Kitchenaid years ago and I hated it bad all my nice towels and sheets would come out in tatters..

Yes it is a DD whirlpool built washer, If your BD WP and A KA TL washer is tearing up your clothing you need to learn how to use a washer.

It's a Whirlpool without a doubt just at a glance, but it looks like that may be a KitchenAid agitator. For some reason the agitator looks taller than the Whirlpool and Kenmore versions. I say if it's free, take it and if it doesn't work out there is always Craigslist or the curb.

It's interesting that you didn't like your KitchenAid. We had a MOL KitchenAid Superba that my mom got the year I was born, and it went until I was 13, before what I know now was a bad coupler. One of the best top loading washers by far in my opinion. Yes, it was essentially a Whirlpool DD, but because of the larger fins on the agitator, the slower agitation speed, and the higher grade GoldSeal motor and 3.6 cu.ft tub, it almost stands on its own as a completely different washing machine than the Whirlpool/Kenmore version. That machine could power through even overloads of towels, and I never remember any imbalanced spins because of the stepped spin speeds. Much like HE washers now, it would start out slowly and step up to max speed in three intervals, so the weight of any off balance items would be reduced through water extraction without the machine shaking itself to pieces by going full throttle from the start. Never remember having anything damaged at all. I'd give anything to find a washer just like it now.

Washer shredding clothes--is there a nick or crack in the agitator?burr or something like that in the tub?NEVER had any problems of clothes tearing in BD or Helical type Maytag washers.Same as with some others.It was the fast stroke Maytags and DD KN-WP I had clothes problems.Got rid of those machines!Or---You could buy a new Speed Queen washer!!No clothes tearing there!
