I'm guessing this is from the mid 90's? The badge is 'Magic Chef', but who really built it/who owned Magic Chef?

Magic Chef was a stove company originally. Bought by Maytag in the 80's, I think.

....Looks exactly like the Whirlpool gas self-cleaner I had for a while. I think they were Roper-sourced units.
Only gas range I've EVER had I could live with. It was nearly as convenient to clean as an electric range. The waist-high broiling and the storage drawer were huge pluses that also made it easier to get along with than most gas ranges.
Still and all, I prefer electric. Greatly. The drawback to the Whirlpool was that it kept eating ignitors, which trust me, FSP wasn't giving away.

That's definitely a Magic Chef built. From around the time Maytag got involved. I always thought they were a decent stove.

Magic Chef Gas Range
This is a real MC built under MTs ownership of what was left of MC. Not a bad range for a low priced gas range, but unfortunately WP is still running this design and it is the bases for expensive Jenn-Air gas, electric and dual=fuel ranges. Overall it is still a pretty cheaply built stove, the oven floors in the gas versions are famous for warping and then cooking unevenly.
