There was an online article, based on CR, according to my sister, that listed the top 10 or 15 cars they recommended for people over 50. Would a subscriber simply send me that list of vehicles in the article? I read the article online from the wire services, but only 5 vehicles were listed. Thank you.

I subscribe to the printed monthly magazine, have so for years, but that is separate from the online version. I've never seen any such recommendation in their printed version.

We perfer ones that are Dependable!

So do the young whipper snappers! Bought my Honda Accord at 19 because....... #1 Personal Importance: Reliability. #2 Efficiency (gas mileage). Gas was only a $1.30 at that time too. Nearly 12 years later, I haven't had a single issue or regret :D

Louis----Thanks for the 2009 list! Edmunds.com is under the impression, apparently, that senior citizens have a lot of money to spend on a car. I'll take that Lexus 460, please, LOL! After all is said and done, it would cost as much as my house.

Reality Check: The only car dealer we have in my tiny burg is a Ford dealership. With 235,000 miles on my 1994 Geo Prizm (a Toyota Corolla clone), I'll have to face facts and begin preparing for the inevitable new car payment. I'd probably be able to eek out a payment for a Ford Focus. The redesign is supposed to be on sale early in 2011. I like smaller cars; always have. At any rate, I'm going to drive the Prizm until it no longer runs...or it disintegrates into rust.

Eugene--you might have that Geo for a while. 235,000 miles is probably not that high for a Toyota. I know someone who had 1989 Honda who had--at best--a lackluster maintenance program. He got nearly 300,000 miles out of it. It was still running when he quit driving it.
