post filter-flo

My parents bought the post filter-flo electric pair in 2001 with a delivery from Lacks. When my dad used it the next day after installing the pair, it made different sounds. I was expecting the washer to start on gentle agitation, then jump into normal. Instead, it made a chunka chunka chunka chunka sound accompanied by sawing. I was also expecting it to shake on spin. It shook during agitation. Nevertheless, it is 15 years old, along with the matching dryer. I do miss the filter-flo with the minibasket, however.

Bought a TOL WPRE8100 Hydrowave in 2007, and love it. I had a 1983 dancing Maytag that had an out of balance tub, that I never could get the mom and pop store to agree to replace. Folllowed by a 2000 Amana that bit the dust at 6 years with bad bearings. These machines are super easy to fix, not that I've had to yet, and at 8 years strong so far, I'm pleased with it. I've bought parts on Ebay when they show up cheap, so I plan on keeping this machine running for a long time.

My mothers 2005 GE is still working fine. Like Jerome said above it does go chunka, chunka, chunka. And my mother doesn't know any other setting than regular. Ive tried explaining to use gentle for smaller loads as thats still more than enough agitation but to no avail. Everything gets the regular treatment.

I did replace the aluminum inner tub bottom a few years back as the original crumbled. But no problems mechanically. A local appliance dealer/repairman said it wasn't worth fixing and to get a new machine (from him of course). He was surprised when my father later informed him I had fixed it. Same guy told my parents the '95 GE Potscrubber 1200 couldn't be fixed which I just got back in service. Works like new again.
