Americans Love Remodeling of Homes
Here in the USA remodeling of homes is common. Whatever you build another will declare it dated, obsolete. If your house is a 1970's ranch home with a lowly 4/12 pitch, a new owner will want a 12/12 pitch and an attic full of 2x4's every 2 feet, so the house looks bigger. One gets bigger looking house and looses attic space! If your solid wood light colored pure pecan kitchen cabinets cost 3000 in 1971, they are dated and thus the new owner will paint them dark or white. The next owner will rip them out. Since everybody has different tastes, this constant remodeling sells products. A neighbor spent right before Katrina 40K on a kitchen upgrade. There designer removed the work triangle, made the sink smaller, but somehow got them to buy 2 refidgerators and 2 freezers. All this got hauled to the curb in 2005 with Katrina; and then they redesigned it again!
