It's coming soon. I will turn up the volume to almost max, get up and dance and sing my heart out. Then my eyes will get all misty. How gay is that? Gayer than Veggies's tinsel tree? Taking a much needed break from all the work and madness. You, too? Join me, please. Is that where you all are--watching the movie?

Great movie. My mom and dad took my sister and I to see it when I was 11 years old at the Gary theatre in downtown Boston. I think it was the only movie we went to see as a family. It's funny......the things you remember.

We must be around the same age

I just watched the wedding and i remembered the intermission came right after it; the film was so long they had to change the reel and that was the spot. Remember?

Good God what a wedding
the magnificent nuns in full habits prepping her
the bells peeling madly
the huge cathedral thronged with people
her stately walk of purity down the aisle
the breath-taking melody of the choir singing
Yes, Coldspot, How do you solve a problem like Maria

Isn't it great to be alive and happy?

May God bless you, Dude

I'm there with ya Mickey! Fortunately when I sing, my upstairs neighbor is a little hard of hearing! LOL

When I was a freshman in high school, I was a choir boy. That year, 1966-67, the band and choir did TSOM for the spring production. Wasn't part of the cast, but was on the stage crew on the center spotlight.
It has always been a favorite of mine.

Guess I had a few burbons tonight

Hit post instead of preview. Look at those absolutely horrendous typo--almost like jokes.

Thanks, John

Bill, I'm thinking of taking voice lessons. The older I get the more I find myself singing and I realy love to sing, but I'm not gonna quit my day job, hahah!

Coldspot

I think I was about 13 when my older sister treated the family to the movie theatre showing Sound of Music when it first came out.

I remember sitting there, not knowing what to expect. I was totally blown away by the opening, very quiet and then the orchestra booming and Julie Andrews singing magnificently. I had never heard sound like that before, and although I've heard even better sound since, nothing has ever had the same effect.
