It just proves that what goes around comes back around. I remember when laundry trucks drove up and down the streets of our city and suburb. Many older people did not have washing machines or had been forced by financial situations to give up domestic help and maybe could not get downstairs to the basement to do laundry. As automatics took over, the day of the big laundries waned. Now families are too busy to do laundry. I would bet that money could be made by placing a want ad to do laundry for people even without ironing. I would consider doing that in my retirement if I ran out of things to do (as if), but if someone needed help with that, I would volunteer.
 
I suppose it is a trend that P&G doesn't want to miss out on. Philly has different laundry services, some several years old. Sometimes I see guys riding bikes pulling a trailer for an eco laundry service. Here are a few:
