Hi everyone, does or is anyone an expert or very knowledgeable about the Wilkins Servis Pitman (aussie) transmission and it's design? I'm looking for as much as possible, information about the transmission internals. Knowlegde, photos, and books would be awesome. Thank you ahead of time.

Well I thought someone more knowledgeable than me would answer this.

Nobody has yet, so here's my guess... I don't think it is an Aussie transmission design. Most likely it uses a Maytag transmission imported from the USA. AFAIK Wilkins Servis did some superficial changes to improve reliability and to suit local tastes, but basically the machine is a Maytag. The changes were control panel styling and fitting a stainless steel inner bowl (basket.) Also using locally available minor components like switches and solenoid valves.

Hhmm, thank you very much. I figured that since the aussie transmission had a 210° agitation arc the Segmant and Intermediate gears (may or would) be different in design.
Did they become less reliable towards the end of the International 400 to 500 Series models? The plastic outer tub seem like an interesting idea. But, what was the use for the metal bottom?

Sorry but I'm just not that familiar with the WS machines. You seem to have more detailed knowledge of them than I do.

I think Leon (Mayfan 69) has one of those WS machines and would have a more informed opinion than me. You could send him a direct message to ask him.
