It is an excellent recipe, easy too. I've made it twice in two months and it always has received rave reviews each time. I prefer to use my own sauce over the jar stuff. Hans' sauce recipe that has been shared here from Betty Feezor would be perfect in this.

1 16oz box of spaghetti noodles
1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 28oz. jar of any variety spaghetti sauce
Four cups mozzarella cheese
One 16oz container of cottage cheese
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Two eggs
5 tablespoons butter, melted

Cook 1 16 oz box of spaghetti according to directions, drain

Brown one lb. of ground beef or turkey, drain. Mix browned meat with one large jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce, set aside

In a LARGE bowl, mix 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, two eggs, and 5 tablespoons melted butter. Stir until well blended.

Stir in the cooked spaghetti noodles and continue stirring until all noodles are coated with egg/cheese mixture.

In a lightly greased 13x9 pan, place half the noodle mixture. On top of the noodles, spread half the cottage cheese, then half the sauce/meat, and 2 cups of the mozzarella cheese, in layers.

Repeat a second layer with noodles, cottage cheese, sauce, and cover with the rest of the Mozzarella.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes, then check casserole. Bake up to 15 minutes longer or until edges are bubbly and cheese begins to brown. This almost over-fills a 13x9 pan, so I put a catch pan underneath it while in the oven to catch spills.

Martin -

LOL. I LOVE to cook. And, believe it or not, we've always been a GE cooking family. Mom has had nothing but GE cooking since 1967, and I've had only GE myself, with three different freestanding ranges. All three are/were excellent. I would like to have double in-wall ovens with a separate cooktop, but I can't imagine how to justify that.

I want a double wall oven too, plus the convection/micro above, and warming drawer below.....in addition to a seperate regular rangetop/oven.........all gas is preferred

actually I could use 2 microwaves too!

How bad can anything be with 5 1/3 cups of cheese, eggs and butter. Hell, cat food would probably taste good. I'm going to give that a whirl this weekend, it sounds great! (the real recipe, not the cat food)

LOL Jim

Your right.

Cheese, Eggs and Butter. Might even be good to keep some on the Nightstand !!!

You could bake a Drain Hose and a few Water Bellows with all that stuff and it would probably be delish.

It does sound good Gordon. Ever try it with Ricotta ? Eddie

Yum ... and it has BUTTER !!!

I see nothing but good stuff in that recipe. It is going to be the next 'let's get together at the neighborhood Bed and Breakfast' dinner. I have several B&B's near my house and I often give the owners a break by taking dinner over. They love it after they have had a fun day of laundry, bathroom cleaning, breakfast, check in/checkout, and tea time. By the end of tea time they are ready to fall over so I give a break on the dinner prep.
