My sister and brother-in-law will be transporting my Grandmother's 1971 Frigidaire Cycla-Matic approx. 150 miles to their home. They're wondering how it can be hauled, secured, etc. without damaging it because of it's age. I read somewhere that it should stand for 24-48hrs. before using, true or false. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

From what I've heard,

Keep It Upright!

Newer refrigeration units are pretty much immune to careless handling, but older equipment was designed with the expectation that it would remain upright for life.

As long as it's not tipped too far, it should be OK to run once it's delivered. Of course, waiting 24-48 hours to allow the fluids to settle won't hurt. Better safe than sorry.
