That drum looks low use compared to what I usually see in much newer dryers, no bluing. Maybe the owner used the line a lot. That’s almost always an option in parts of San Diego.

It’s a mid 1980’s model. I wouldn’t say it’s anything special other than it’s age because in their day they were very popular machines.

This was the last period before the white epoxy coated drums were introduced. 

 

The blue-pink drums do not come from heavy use but rather poor clothes washer practices and or a partly clogged vent system, it can happen in one load.

Bluing is strange. I use very liberal amounts of “Goof Off” (I buy the gallon size at Home Depot).
The rag needs to be continually dampened and the blue will quickly succumb with repeated aggressive wiping. Sometimes a scrubbie is needed.
The rag soon develops an encrustation as if layers of extremely fine clay or silt was being removed.
