I came across a youtube video that shows how to change the brakes on Whirlpool top loader washers. However, on the automaticwasher.org archives, Youtube, and Google, I can't find photos of what worn washer brakes look like. Anyone have photos or a link?

Which WP TL Washers are you talking about?

Bad brakes were almost unheard of on the old BD machines and I can't think of a single case of a WP built DD washer ever having a brake failure of any kind.

Speed Queen TL washers are an entirely different matter, SQs do have brake pads that sometimes get badly worn after extensive use, luckily they are not very difficult to change the three little pads.

Thanks.

What's the minimum thickness for Speed Queen brake pads (my model number is AWN432SP) that they should be changed?

Also, I didn't find a youtube video on how to change them. If you have a link, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
